Staying in Control
Yorkton Casino gives you practical tools to keep your play at a level that suits your budget and your schedule. This page explains each tool, how changes take effect, and which free support services you can turn to in Canada.
Our Commitment
We run our casino from Yorkton, Saskatchewan, for adults who enjoy slots, Live Casino tables and Jackpots as paid entertainment. Gambling should never be treated as income, a fix for debt or a reason to skip work, family or sleep. Our lobby, Promotions and VIP pages are built to support controlled play.
We accept players only from locations where local rules permit play, and we meet Canadian requirements for age, identity checks and anti-money laundering. Our support staff are trained to recognise when gambling may be harming a player. If we notice those signs, we will reach out, explain the tools available and, if necessary, restrict or pause your account for your protection.
Responsible play also shapes our marketing. Players who use a break or self-exclusion stop receiving promotional emails, and we do not target offers at anyone who has asked us to stop.
Protecting Minors
Yorkton Casino is for adults only, with 19 as the minimum age. Anyone younger is blocked from registering, depositing or playing, and that covers welcome offer free spins and Yorkton Rewards prizes. We verify the age and identity of each player before accepting a deposit, and accounts opened by minors are shut down. For the full process and advice on keeping children away from gambling sites at home, read our Underage Gambling Policy.
Free Support Services
If your gambling, or the gambling of a friend or family member, worries you, it may help to speak with someone who is independent of the casino. The organisations below offer free, confidential support:
- GamTalk
- GameSense
- Alberta Health Services Addiction Helpline
- 211 Alberta
Contacting us does not mean you have to close the account or prove you have a problem. A single short exchange is often enough to see things more clearly.
How Limit Changes Take Effect
All limits work by the same simple rule. A decrease takes effect immediately once saved. An increase, or removing a limit altogether, becomes active only after 24 hours.
The 24 hour delay lets you reconsider before raising your spending or session caps. Should you change your mind in that window, you can cancel the pending increase and keep your current limit.
Your Tools
All tools below sit in your account settings. You control them yourself, and our support team can help you set them up by email.
Spending Limits
You can cap deposits, total wagering and the amount staked per bet or spin. Each cap is independent, so you may set one, two or all three.
- Deposit limit: the maximum you can deposit into your balance during your chosen period.
- Wager limit: the combined amount you may bet during that period, bets placed with winnings included.
- Stake limit: the highest amount you can wager per bet or spin in any game.
When a limit is reached, you cannot make further deposits or bets of that type until the next period begins.
Reality Checks
Set the interval for reality checks to suit you. Each reminder tells you how many minutes this session has lasted, along with your overall wins and losses, and you then decide whether to carry on or log out.
Time Alerts
With time alerts, you decide on a session length before play starts. Once that time runs out, a clear notice appears and you decide whether to stop. Combined with reality checks, they help you keep track of your playing time.
Cooling-Off Break
You decide how much time the cooling-off pause covers, anywhere from 24 hours through to six weeks, and your account remains locked for exactly that stretch. While the lock is active, the account accepts no deposits or wagers, and all promotional emails are paused. Your balance stays secure, and any withdrawal you requested before the lock started will still be processed and paid out. A cooling-off period that has begun cannot be ended early. It continues until the full duration you selected has elapsed.
Self-Exclusion
When a cooling-off break does not go far enough, self-exclusion offers a firmer stop. For the full period you choose, play and deposits are blocked on the account and all marketing to you ends. An exclusion cannot be ended early. During it, we suggest speaking with a support organisation from the list above.
Account Closure
You can leave us for any reason by requesting account closure. We send any withdrawable balance via the payment method you verified, and the account is then disabled. If you are leaving because of gambling harm, let us know: we will set up self-exclusion instead and block any new account from being opened.
Identity and Location Checks
We complete identity (KYC) checks and verify your location by geolocation before accepting any deposit. These measures keep minors, and players from areas where we do not operate, out of the casino, and they guard your account against misuse.
Self-Assessment
This short self-assessment quiz checks how you have been gambling recently, for example whether you chase losses, play for longer than you intended, or keep your play secret from the people around you. It is quick to complete, and your answers are kept private.
The result gives a clear view of your habits and directs you to the tools on this page. If it points to a risk, set limits straight away and reach a free support organisation.
